Old Git Mav 2/26/2012 Good Morning Cap'n hope the weather is bright over Windy Corner its usually a bit on the dark side of the moon here. After unfortunately missing there last appearance at the Cross Keys in there new format i came to see Emerald with anticipation knowing at last they had morphed back to a five piece unit in which have always campaigned they would when ever i have spoke to Edgy.Tom & Ian . This evening saw Emerald at its best & for what they stand for performing & playing rock music at the edge of excellence with a back catalogue of classic rock numbers from the giants of rock such as Metallica Saxon Judas Priest & iron maiden to unfamiliar songs not associated with Emerald Pink Floyd's Wish you Were Here the band gave a master class of high octane rock which had he Movers & shakers on there toe's through-out the two sets culminating in the bands own version of Thin Lizzy's Emerald. after a couple of years in the wilderness as a three & four piece it was great to see Emerald back as a five piece outfit sat at the local rock scenes top table. Crosss Keys Morley Rock Of The North  Sounds great to me Mav and a very highly rated band they are too.The Keys are putting some great bands on these days. Dave - Just had to post about a great gig last friday I'm talking about EMERALD at the Cross Keys... WOW !!! what a band.. It's been a long time since i enjoyed a band so much A great set including 'Dc. Priest, Metallica and a fantastic cover of Neil young's Keep on rocking in The Free World that sounded massive and really got the crowd rocking . Great band with a great set all played to a very high standard, the sound was powerful and clear And the band seemed to really enjoy playing, Great interplay between the singer and guitarist All in all a very talented and entertaining band don't miss them next time they are near you... One of the best bands on the scene. Rock Of The North 13/11/2011 Cheers Dave, glad you enjoyed the band, their reputation goes before them. Dave - Great band!!! Frances - Shame I missed the band last night. Let me know next time they're about! Adam - They were fantastic tonight - I would venture to say best band I have seen at the Tap so far. Dave - Spikes right for a change, lol. Emerald r 1 of the best around these days. Could wi sum contact details plz, may av sum work for them in the future. Tonights band, Emerald, are just doing there sound check and sound fantastic, probably the best sound The Tap has had for a very long time! Metallica, Thin Lizzy, Saxon, Judas Priest bring it on!!!!!  Spike, The Brewery Tap, Idle 25/09/2011 The Tap was well and truly blown away tonight with what was undoubtedly the best band that has played here in a very long time. I'm talking about Emerald. Professional all the way. The best sound I have ever heard and the tightest of sets ever played. Metal was played at it's best from GnR, UFO, Metallica, Thin Lizzy etc etc what a fantastic night, can't wait for next time. Rock Of The North Thanks for this Spike, and I also had a private e-mail this morning saying just the same as you! I've just copied and pasted this bit "Just got back in from a quickie to Emerald @ Brewery Tap ..... they were on cracking form - all the usual stuff they do - Priest, Lizzy, UFO, Maiden .... and the rest.".... They really are a top band, so powerful and it must have seemed so in the Tap!   EMERALD @ the Keys By Joe of Versatonic Went to see EMERALD at Cross Keys, what a good professional show they put on. Mav wasn't their,so thought I'd make a comment, and all I can say is good things about the band, and I'm not just saying that because I know them. In the past they have had a few bad comments, I myself have said they are too loud, but tonight they were spot on, they are truly professional and have taken any criticism on board and rectified that. It was by no means as busy as I thought it it would be, but although a bit quiet at times, the audience really enjoyed it. Tom was on form as usual, but had no alcohol to drink at all ( f*ckin hell Tom ya got to have a few pints lol). The band were really tight and the sound so much fuller being a five piece. Songs from, ACDC, Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, Metallica, Saxon, Motorhead e.t.c. all played to a very high standard. Two unsung heroes of the band, but not on stage, were the guy doing the lighting, and Edges lad working the sound desk both did a fantastic job. Well done lads, and thanks for a good night, see you again Emerald By Jane 31/01/2011 Nice to see Emerald back rockin the Keys!!
